Not all budget phones come with solid features, but the Moto G series is much cheaper than many midrange devices such as Honor, and Meizu.
Unlike the Samsung Galaxy S9+ or iPhone 8 Plus, the Moto G6 Plus is 0.2 inches larger than its smaller Moto G6. The largest G6 Plus is actually 5.9-inches in size with a variety of advantages, but G6 Plus is more suitable for beginners and budget customers and it is much less expensive than others.
Moto G6 Specs and Features,
Motorola’s Moto G6 Plus looks almost the same as G6 and G6 Play. This is bit confusing but it’s not a bad thing. However, the difficulty in distinguishing or recognizing the phone, Like the G6, G6 Plus, and simple G6. Moto G6 Plus fingerprint reader is on the front physical button beneath the screen with Motorolla’s logo. Its quite old fashion but fingerprint reader is fast.
The look is from G5 series, the round dual camera module and some internals. The Moto G6 Plus specifications actually differ from the Moto G6, in other words, some upgrades. Its difference with G6 and G6 Plus is that they reduce the performance by adding Snapdragon 450 chipsets rather than Snapdragon 630, which is found in Moto G6 Plus and many other considerable changes more budget-friendly untenable smartphone.
A surprise by Motorolla is they make the large battery phone Moto E5 Plus with 5,000mAh battery, but it doesn’t much popular as Moto G6 Play. Moto G6 Play comes with 4000mAh battery a thousand Amp less than E5 Plus. But this is not the biggest problem, there are obvious improvements.
Moto G6 Design,
In terms of design, the Moto G6 Plus is almost identical to the Moto G6. Unless you put them side by side, it is difficult to tell only a small difference in screen size. Despite having a large 18:9 screen, the fingerprint scanner is still in the front and not the back. But the G6 Play easily identifies with the fingerprint scanner on the back.
Since both the phone’s (Moto G6 and G6 plus) dimensions are similar, you don’t have to worry about Plus being difficult to deal. All the changes are in hardware in Plus model even all the G-series are weighing the same 167 grams. The look and feel are good although the glass is a bit slippery. This is a complete remodelling of the series, G-series has been modified primarily from the design perspective.
The G6 Plus is equipped with large 5.9 inches wide 18:9 ratios Full HD+ screen with 409 pixels density. The display is quite large, movies and games feel incredible. It is good to see 18:9 ratio smartphones, a unique feeling emerge when you use first time especially when you upgrade from old traditional bezel full phone.
On the back and front of Moto G6 Plus Corning Gorilla Glass and gives an eye-catching look. Moto claims that there is 3D glass on the back of G6 Plus, and the phone is scratch and water resistance. A splash-resistant coating used in Moto G6 Plus not fully waterproof unlike G6 the Plus model is a p2i water repellent, so it is basically splash-proof, rather than completely waterproof.
The outer layer of the gorilla glass is certainly more slippery and easy to pick up, its curves side also flashes a light, making the new Moto series more attractive and more advanced than its predecessors. Motorola also added a simple transparent rubber casing to the box to keep the glass rustic when you expect it to be a bit rough.
All the buttons and ports are in the same position in the whole series, the volume and power buttons are on the right edge, the SIM + microSD combination tray is on the top edge, and the bottom has a USB Type-C port supports fast charging 2.0 and an 3.5 mm headphone jack located next to it. Like the Moto G6, the G6 Plus uses a p2i waterproof coating instead of a full IP rating.
Moto G6 Display and Software,
In many ways, the Moto G6 Plus looks better than the Moto X4, thanks to its slimmer form factor. The screen aspect ratio is 18:9 make it large, which provides the current slender form factor. This is an IPS LCD display with zero gaps, and a fair resolution of Full HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) can make the display look neat and tidy.
It is not a super rich OLED panel, but for this price, At least there is zero “gap” crisp IPS LCD and it’s cheap. The screen is bright and sharp and has a powerful viewing angle and it can do the job very well.
The software of Moto G6 Plus is Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. Moto G6 Plus software is close to stock version of Oreo and it is not much different from the regular G6 model. There is less bloatware here as per usual. Motorola adds some handy software experiences apps.
An Android operating system that is close to Google’s stock version, providing you with a clean and easy-to-use experience. Moto includes some additional applications and add-ons, all of which are used for better user experience. In fact, they usually increase the reliability of Moto Voice, which is now in 2.0 version. This introduces additional contextual understanding for voice search, which Motorola described as “not an assistant” just a phone interface.
Built-in Moto apps come with pretty handy features, like Moto Actions, Display features and some gestures. Moto Display gesture, which always turns on when it recognizes that your eyes are facing the phone and the Moto Voice introduces voice commands that are always online, works well with Moto Key properly.
Moto G6 Performance,
The Moto G6 Plus has the powerful chipset among the three new devices introduced in the G6 series. The chip is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. With this much power you should be able to do most of the tasks as expected, but don’t expect it too much fast as the high-end smartphones. This is still a cheap mid-range device, although there are fairly solid internal specifications.
Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor is Octa-core clockes at 2.2 GHz will cope better with day-to-day tasks. Moto G6 Plus storage option is 64GB, which is plenty of room for application and media. Moto G6 Plus has a micro SD-card option for storage expansion if you need more space, you can use up to 256GB’s via microSD.
Performance improvement on the G6 Plus is not always great, but it can be felt in some areas (such as camera functions), which is somewhat better. Loading of applications on Plus model is quite fast, so we can’t comment on how the 25% increase in RAM affects its use.
Although there are obvious improvements, the specification makes G6 plus definitely be a better device than G6. Moto G6 plus can also record 4K slow motion videos using the dual camera on rear and performance is boosted by Snapdragon 630 chip, while the G6 is limited to 1080p recording.

Moto G6 Camera,
The main part of the specification is G6 Plus camera, which is the best of the three G models. It contains dual lenses, a 12-megapixel shooter with a 5-megapixel depth sensor, making portraits beautiful. The f/1.7 aperture and dual pixel autofocus are very useful for many features, such as 4K /slow-mo video recordings.
The camera comes with smart features such as text scanning and smart object detection. The text scanner can easily translate words and phrases, and the macro function can name the object to which the user points. The panorama function, portrait mode with selective colour and adjustment, and facial recognition functions are available.
The G6 Plus has a pretty good camera supports dual AF, results in fast face detection focus speed for photo capturing. However, this is still not much faster as other flagships. If future updates fix this will bring about significant improvements.
Features from Moto Z2 and Moto G5 Plus also available in G6 Plus like photos background blurred and many more. The device also has a slow-motion function, like today’s leading manufacturers, Motorola will also be based on the intelligence of artificial intelligence into the Moto G6 Plus camera software.
For Selfies an 8-megapixel camera on the front comes with beauty and group selfie’s modes. Another Motorola commitment is for images obtained under low lighting conditions. The dual pixel sensor technology, which increases the photosensitivity and eliminates noise.
Moto G6 Battery Life,
The battery of Moto G6 Plus is 3200mAh, which is larger than the 3000mAh battery capacity in the Moto G5 Plus last year. This phone has a satisfactory battery life, but considering this screen is large, we wouldn’t be surprised if it only lasts a day. Motorola includes fast charging option with USB-C in all G6 models which is great.
Unlike other Motorola products, this is never going to last you for more than a single day, although its battery is slightly bigger than Moto G6, which is good but not much because of powerful components use more battery. Battery performance is almost same as Moto G6 at normal use, we couldn’t expect much because of a larger screen and Snapdragon 630 chip.
G6 Plus impression,
Motorola Moto G6 Plus is a tricky phone to judge because of its look, exactly the same as the Moto G6. It seems to benefit only from a small portion of the specification. These improvements undoubtedly mean a better experience and it can be seen in two ways. A major upgrade in camera and display size, a comparison to the Moto G4 Plus.
Display aspect ratio improved from Moto G5S Plus and I think You will need to spend additional funds to buy Snapdragon 630 processor, it also upgrades other specifications, including larger batteries, better camera, more RAM and more storage space.
This may be a mid-range bargain but Moto G6 Plus is the successors of the Moto G series. If Motorola does give new software updates, this will complete the G-series package, which is good for users.
